    An illustration: The Eaton Vance Tax Advantaged Dividend Income Fund (EVT), a conservatively managed, diversified income fund run by Boston-based Eaton Vance. Expenses come in about 1% a year.

    This fund has traded at a discount to its net assets for nearly all of its four-year existence, so don't buy it expecting a snap-back.     While the share price has risen 40%, the total return has come to a thumping 80%.

  • ( ) Aetna Introduces New Health Insurance Plans for Individuals and Their Families in Mississippi

    Aetna (NYSE:AET) announced today that it has begun selling health plans for individuals and their families throughout the state of Mississippi. The new Aetna Advantage Plans for Individuals and Families will be effective February 1, and consumers will be able to purchase health insurance directly from Aetna or through independent insurance agents or brokers.

    Individuals may choose from among nine medical plans, including PPO-style plans; high-deductible health plans compatible with health savings accounts; preventive and hospital plans that combine coverage for preventive care with catastrophic coverage for services like inpatient hospital care and outpatient surgery; and an optional dental PPO plan. Each Aetna Advantage Plan is also available on a child-only basis, so that parents can obtain health coverage for their children, even if no other family members enroll in the plan. More>>

    MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Booker Townsell rarely spoke about his time in the Army or his wrongful conviction in one of the largest courts-martial of World War II.

    But his past took center stage on Saturday, when the late Townsell received military honors at his grave site and a salute. His family also accepted the U.S. flag that was denied at his burial almost 25 years ago.

    The ceremony and reception that followed attracted hundreds of people, including local and state dignitaries, a representative from the Army and a lawmaker who helped restore Townsell's name.

    Townsell was one of 43 black soldiers court-martialed after an Italian prisoner was found lynched following a night of rioting at Fort Lawton in Seattle in 1944. More>>
